What was the weirdest, strangest, desperate thing you tried to lose weight?

Lord knows we have tried everything and then some.  I know I have.  When I think back I think the 3 that stand out was the Liquid protein, Diet Candy Ayds and the sweat space suits.

The liquid protein was the most vile thing I had ever tasted in my life.

The Ayds candies gave you the runs and of course the weight came back on once you didn't visit the bathroom often.

Remember those silver body suits you were to wear and looked like a space person.  It was for weight loss but you better hurry up and go weigh yourself before you drank a glass of water

I can remember people wrapping themselves in saran wrap to sweat off some pounds. I never tried it. The amount of saran wrap I'd have needed wouldn't have made it cost effective.

I let a Muslim Gentlemen, whom I'd only met twice before, knock me out in one room, with a bunch of people whom I'd never met, While he, in the adjacent room, settled in at the viewscreen of his video monitor. Dual joysticks in hand, he begins.

I awoke later that morning, in more pain than I wish to reveal. To a 'nurse' in a reversed baseball cap, in my recovery room. I vaguely remember this time as their was a great deal of 'whining' emanating from 'somewhere'. I then was taken to the coldest room into which I've ever been.

Okay, vomit, vomit ,vomit. Then came about 1 million little teeny tiny cups of water. It was like drinking liquid sandpaper.

I then met my charge nurse. A Ukrainian woman, with breath that you could literally see in front of her. (And NOT because it was so cold). Leaned in close enough for us to make out if we had been inclined, to say, " Are you okay"? She could have asked from the doorway.

That, was the first 24 hours.

I'm sorry, I should have included that was my description of my RNY surgery. My doc is a wonderful man, but his technique is to use a robot to perform the RNY. Check it out on you tube, I did before my procedure.

I'd never went on a single diet prior to the surgery. So, the rny was the craziest thing I'd ever done.

Many laparoscopic procedures are done via robot these days.  Pretty normal!
