Clarity ensues
Bro, You made me cry. You are one courageous guy. Reason #1 - you made the appointment. Reason #2 - you let someone know and trusted that they will maintain perspective.
In March, ~3 months after surgery. I enrolled in a Mindful Eating class based on a physician recommendation. 2 hours X 4 nights. You took like 5 min to each a potato chip and learned about eating consciously and identifying emotional eating . It was run by a physcologist who is an expert in eating disorders and the class was helpful in adapting to post-WLS life.
So, keep on keeping on.
Sharon
I'm so glad you're feeling better. What a nice post. :)

Love it when people acknowledge the help and support they get here and don't just post and run. Nobody comes here for the thanks, but it is nice when they come.
The posters here really do have your (the collective) best interests at heart and will do their best to help - without all the bull crap and there, there handpatting.

This is such a heartwarming post. So glad you opened up to your wife as to how you're feeling & at the same going to a counselor too! You're making great strides in your progress both physically & mentally. Too often people concentrate so hard on the physical stuff they neglect/forget all the emotional stuff that led to the physical problems. So glad you're handling both, & with your wife there to support you, you've got this in the bag! Good going Gary!

With your wife's support you will be able to get through anything, including this transition to the new Gary. Your new normal is going to be the best thing you ever did for yourself and your family.
Thank you so much for letting us know that you are better, and have seen a counselor. It's an important step for your overall mental and physical health. Good luck!
