Pre-op Diet Blues
For me, the pre-op diet was harder than anything post-op. You're right, it is really hard, but it will get better. Just get through and keep on track! It'll get better.

150 lost and maintaining!
My pre-op liquid diet was similar. It you can have SF popsicles or jello stock up. Didn't really think of them until after surgery, and they were a life savers. If you can't take it at least have something more of what you are allowed to have, protein, veggies or protein drink... not wheat thins.

I spoke with the nutritionist at my doctor's office today and she said I could have vegetables in between meals or up my shakes to 4 -5 of them a day instead of 2. I was honestly relieved when she said veggies because I love them and often had them for snacks at work before. I asked about soup broth and ice pops but she said no, that was for after the surgery. I can't see how liquids are wanting to shrink the liver, but eating vegetables are ok. Whatever it is, I'll take it lol.

I popped a sugar-free breath mint when other people were eating and I did not want to or need to.
Or, I left the room -- (took a bath, got on the computer, did some knitting, etc.)
Honestly, you are not going to be able to control other people's behavior (although you can ask for help, if you want).
Many people are on liquids only -- so, your getting to have a meal is actually a bonus.
Would it be easier if your 'meal' was at lunch-time, instead of dinner?
Once you can break through about 3-4 days of the diet, it gets easier ---- by giving in to carbs/crackers, you are making it harder on yourself.
My surgery is on the 15th! OMG I feel ya on the pre_op! I've been on it since Dec 23rd. I swear I've never been so hungry! I've lost 20lbs so far, and it does get easier. Sugar-Free Popsicle's have helped a lot! I don't even get the lean protein and veggies. I'm 4 shakes a day with sf popsicles anytime.

I'm excited for you for the surgery soon like me! Congratulations on the weight loss so far too! Now I feel like a whiney baby for saying it was hard only after 3 days and you have been on it since before Christmas, and with it being all liquid. I just didn't realize how hard this was going to be. I know I can do it...I just need to stay away from the temptations.
My hardest time was at night. I ate SF popsicles and watched a lot of videos. YouTube has a lot of videos of bariatric surgery: My 600 pound life, etc. I also watched Dr. Weiner's series on bariatric stuff.

I have watched that show My 600lb Life many times. While I am no where near 600, their stories inspired me to want to get the surgery. I took your suggestion last night with watching some of the YouTube videos on bariatric surgeries cause I started to want to snack again. I figured if I kept my mind occupied with them, I would steer clear of it.
