eating too fast?

I just had RNY on Monday, Dec 7, 2015 and am comfortably able to eat my full fluids menu within 45 min instead of 1.5 hours for each meal.  I can usually get all 90ml of protein shake in 15 min as well, instead of 45 min.  I do stop if I feel too full.  I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing?  Any advise welcome...thanks

You're doing fine.....try not to over think it. If you take it in too fast you will know it and back off.  Looks like you are on track!  Keep us posted

If you eat really, really slowly, food will empty into your intestine as fast (or faster) than you are eating it. You will never, ever be full.

1.5 hours is way, way too long to be eating. So is 45 minutes. 20 minutes is more like it, 30 minutes max.

Fluids go right on through. You won't ever be full on fluids. That's one good reason to avoid drinking calories once you are healed.

Thank you.  My post surgery "requirements" are to expect it to take the 1.5 hours.  But I'm glad others think this is a little crazy as I do.  Looking forward to eating "real" food again!

Thanks for you input!

My rules say that meals should be no longer than 30 minutes.  1.5 seems extremely excessive.

But, that said, I never had an issues with liquids.

I think there is a typo in your instructions and it should have said 15 minutes, not 1.5 hours.  1.5 hours is totally ridiculous.

Longer than 30 minutes the food will have left your stomach, you will never feel satisfied or full.
