tailbone issues

Has anyone here had any issues with tailbone pain after weightloss? I've noticed in the last two weeks that I can feel my tailbone when I recline or lay down, sitting is okay. I've always been exceedingly narrow through the legs and hips. Especially for a 395 pound man. Think of a grapefruit balanced on two toothpicks. I asked my surgeons office, and was told this condition is very common. Is this common?

Very common.  I have special pillows that are everywhere- my office, car, etc. I can't sit for long on a hard surface.  Forget bathtub. Initially was much worse, but over the years I got used to it and learned how to sit.

Thank you, that's very reassuring to know. I'm adding some specific exercises to my daily routine.

Yep.

Just wait until you sit on someone's lap and they tell you that you have a "boney butt"!

Yes, I also had this problem. And the the good veterans at this site recommended a ****yx cushion. (I found one on Amazon, they have many to choose from). I used mine in the car on long trips and on any hard surfaces.  Funny thing, I used it for a few month and now I no longer need it. I don't know if I learned to sit differently or what, but it really helped when I needed it. Like H.a.l.a.B. said, this is a skinny persons problem, so welcome to the skinny club!

I would say that this happens to every single person. It eventually fades, for the most part. But for the next year, expect a pretty sore ass.

It's almost as though it's the Universe's example of turnabout being fair play. On my part at least. Because I'm such a pain....

Thanks Grim.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. My ass has absolutely no padding anymore and I can't seem to sit still.  I'm constantly shifting positions because my ass hurts if I don't.  I get up and walk around a lot at home because of it.  Unfortunately at work I drive a car most of the day and its hard to keep comfortable.
