To the lower bmi people who have done gastric sleeve do use have any regrets? I really want to do the sleeve rather then lapband but I worry I won't be able to controll the weight loss and go to skinny

I don't think there is any difference in loss between the sleeve & RnY.  There are many people on the VSG forum that have lost 100,160,290.  You may want to pose this question on the VSG forum.

And no ..I have no regrets.

If you read the LapBand forums you will probably change your mind about it.  It has more complications than any other WLS surgery, so you need to do lots of research.

At my highest weight I was 239.9 pounds, then dropped to 210.9 on surgery day.  I haven't regretted my sleeve for even a minute.  It's one of the best decisions I have ever made. I'm not at all worried about getting too skinny.  There are always ways to stop the weight lost, so there is no need to worry about that.

5' 5" tall. VSG on August 4, 2015/ Starting weight 239.9/ Surgery weight 210.9/ Current weight 137.4/ Goal weight 140/ No longer overweight, now a NORMAL weight. Now that I'm at goal, it's time to move on to maintenance!!!!!!!!

Is gastric plication/imbrication (know as gastric wrap in europe)available in Australia? It is the simplest of all weight loss surgeries and you don't lose weight and can't stop. You get slower but effective results. I am very happy with my plication losses up to well over 100 pounds have been reported over a two yr period but generally it would a surgery offered to lower bmi patients.

Plication has its own unique potential complications, including tissue necrosis in the plicated tissue. Get a real Sleeve instead.

Necrosis in the tissue is quite rare and with the new way they do the stitching they think they have that problem solved. It is the surgery of choice in several European countries and they have been doing it for a long time over there. It is often used as a first surgery to help the morbidly obese lose enough to make a more invasive surgery safer. I have no problems with a real sleeve if it is what you want and you are suitable for the surgery but I am happy with my plication and have two friends that feel the same way.

You won't get too skinny. After the first year you will be working hard not to put weight back on. Nobody that has a need for weight loss surgery in the first place ever has trouble figuring out how to gain weight.
