When was your surgery - I don't see a date in your tagline. I just walked for while - you still have to be careful of your joints, as you say.
I did not jump in when my dr cleared me - I just worked on increasing my mobility and speed (walk, walk, walk faster, walk even faster, gentle stretches, etc.) and then started weight training at 12 weeks out and later added the classes and worked up to long hikes.

My surgery was November 23rd. I feel great but I'm afraid of overdoing it and hurting myself. I used to do zumba at this weight and just didn't jump but did all the other movements. I am in good shape other than being fat lol

That's the way that most people start. Try to ramp it up slowly. I have a fitbit that I love for making sure my activity stays where I want it.
