I got the insurance approval for my procedure on Friday. I am scheduled to have it done in 2 weeks (the 21st). So today is the first day of  the dreaded all liquid diet. Any pointers on how to get through this stage of the process?

CONGRATS BIGUPS2315!!!

i was really dreading the 2 weeks liquid diet but after the first few days it wasn't too bad. I mixed my protein with diet v8 splash and still do today.

May i suggest, especially this time of year, you remove yourself from situations that involve and revolve around food. When my family would eat, i would go to the bedroom and putter around until they were done.

Good luck and stay faithful. you can do this !!!

I had already left sugar, alcohol, anything made with white flour and caffeine behind, I told my so at weak moments that this was necessary for my surgery to go well. I tried out lots of herbal teas and different varieties of protein shakes. What is interesting, is that the one I thought I was going to like was not the one I ended up using post surgery. My taste and sense of smell changed drastically after the surgery. So, don't invest too much into one variety of protein before your surgery. I drank lots of broth (chicken, beef, and crab) I have made my own bone broth for years and can or freeze it, I put a big dent in our annual supply. I also enjoyed V8 juice.

Congratulations! I got the insurance approval last Friday as well. My surgery will be the 29th so I have a little bit of time before starting the two week liquid diet. Best of luck to you!
