ZERO CHANCE
I had my surgery back in the old days when we didn't get a lot of instruction and had to learn the hard way. Most people on here are gifted instructions for their early days and then have this fabulous resource of people who have stayed here for years paying forward their education and experiences.
To see that poo poo'd in favour of what is clearly ridiculous is sad, but unfortunately all too common.
Most WLS vets (5+ years post surgery) who stick around on here have either pretty much lived or seen it all. We can actually accurately assess, in a few posts, who will be successful at losing and maintaining their weight loss and who will crash and burn ... however, people are redeemable if they remain open minded and stick around to enjoy the fruits of others successes and mistakes (because none of us is perfect!)

I can't read a vet's prediction about someone's future success/failure (particularly failure) without thinking of that kid in the Sixth Sense who says "I see dead people."
With time and experience you guys have cultivated a different type of 6th sense.

I appreciate your years of being in the struggle. I see a great many already being helped by the wisdom from vets of WSL. I would rather do something wrong and learn than do nothing and never learn right. If you saw a mockery, I'm sorry it was absolutely meant to help me never make a mockery of it in my journey. I had to stop myself from chastising someone yesterday because of their stubborn position.
This is done in a way that show's how I feel about people doing this, and it's how I choose to express my feelings of despair for this person, rather than just pile on. I don't believe anyone knows anyone else's future, but a new approach should be expected of each new person added to the mix. Then our own learning cycles may begin.
I do appreciate our interactions together, even if I usually end up saying sorry at some point.
Thanks for your thoughts.

More than anything, this forum has taught me that I can learn something from everyone.
I can learn who I want to emulate and who I need to steer clear of when it comes to being successful in this journey.
In OA they say, "if you want the success that someone has, you have to be willing to do what that someone does."
I picked a few successful folks ... With my same surgery and with other surgeries and I hung on their every word.
I worked my plan with my surgeon, followed people I wanted to be like and went pretty much steaight to my goal weight.
I still (6 1/2 years out) sometimes think, before I eat, "now, is that something that 'X' would choose?.
Well, darn. I'm sorry I missed your original post. Sounds like it was thought-provoking and would have been an interesting read. Bummer.
