I have an upcoming surgery scheduled for January 11th and looking at the amount of protein (65g), water intake, vitamins, and personal medications that I have to take it is going to take some serious organization and planning.

Does anyone know of a Chart available that is specifically for post op?

Chart?  Do you mean an app?

I love the medisafe app. You put all your medications/vitamins in there and set reminders for the times to take them. Most use Myfitnesspal for tracking protein/water.    (The first few days post op I found it easier just to write down my water intake though)

I think I have that app.  I was actually looking for like a paper chart, with boxes to check off when I took meds, took in protein, water, vitamins...

With needing that 1/2 hour before and after meals (well liquid for the first three weeks) but after that ...and needing to take so many medications that I would need to take meds almost every time I was drinking water, just trying to figure it all out time wise.  It would be nice if there was a chart

It really isn't necessary to stop drinking 1/2 hour before eating. It's drinking with meals or after that's the problem. That should make things a little easier.

Remember 28g = 1ounce, so it will not as difficult as you think.  Other people may have apps to help, but I jut figured out what would work for a day and then repeat it - a few choices for BF, a few choices for lunch and a few for dinner and mix and match.  I only cook once or twice a week and eat 'left overs.'  At first I needed a checklist, but after awhile, you will develop a routine that works for you, with or without an app, as yu like.

My best friend just had VSG 2 months? ago.  It was odd going over what seemed like every bit of my journey that I had forgotten.

I told her I just focused like a laser beam getting my water, protein, and vitamins in.  The first 10 days I also shot myself up with Lovenox (blood thinner) 2x's per day.  I was like a machine.  Though I was working, there were days that I did not even know what day it was.  Getting my body what it needed was simply priority.  There really was nothing else.  The thing is it is work those first days.  We can't gulp our water or protein it's - sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ... sip ...  sip ... sip... sip all fricken day.  It's exhausting but it is all that matters if you want to be okay.

Not sure that there is any post-op chart available.  What you can do is create your own check off list and run off some copies for daily use.

Best,

Layla
