What happens to all that extra Skin and unpleasant-ness

So after you are at your goal weight, whenever that happened for all those long timers in here, what was left but skin removal, a tummy tuck,

a breast lift.......where do you go?  Who do you trust?  And what if insurance doesn't cover it?

I understand that for many this may be the last thing on your mind, but I am planning and getting ducks in a row, and need to hear from

all those of you who have been there done that and are you happy with the results?

I am sorry if this is rambling........Just trying to be as best prepared as one can be.

thank you

Lynne

Start a savings account is the best advice I can give.

Insurance  DOES NOT COVER plastic surgery.  Some might cover a panni removal, but you will need to have documentation stating the issues with it like ongoing rashes and sores.

what is a good target for the savings account.

Right now.. I got thigh issues...and would like to get that fixed. I dont have a target value in which to save for thighs.

I would start with $25,000.   Worse case scenario you have extra money in the back.

Every place is different so maybe in Florida it would cost $13,000, but in California the same procedure is $21,000.   I would ask your surgeon if they have a PS they refer patients to or look on-line.

These are super-rough estimates and will greatly fluctuate depending on whether you stay in country or go to Mexico and what part of the country you live in:

Facelift $5-10K

Lower body lift $10-15K

Upper body lift (arm lift, boob lift, side/back fat skin removal) - $8-12K

Thigh lift $5-8K

Goal reached in 7 months and 1 week

Thank you! I appreciate this.

25K was a goal so far removed from what I could reasonably save in a few years (and I am already trying to dig out of CC debt) that I was so disheartened. Even though these are rough...these look like targets that give me hope!

I go in for a lower body lift on Friday (freaking out) with hospital and anesthesiologist fees, I am paying 30K. Then on March 11, I get my arms and breast augmentation which will be about 22K with hospital and anesthesiologist. I am now saving for my medial thigh lift- I am unsure of that price as of yet. Price relies heavily on your location from what I have noticed. I am in the Ft. Lauderdale area and I have also noticed that NY and CA are priced higher than, say, the mid west. Good luck to you.

Start saving now.

i was self pay for my WLS and then self pay for a full breast lift/arm lift .... A year later, a full abdominoplasty.

i spent about 25,000 for the 3 surgeries, but I drive a car that is 12 years old.

i found money for what was most important to me.

I went into this with realistic expectations that despite getting down to a normal weight, I had not expected a bikini-ready body to emerge.  I never got plastics, and conceal my skin beneath lycra shaper undergarments.  Now that I'm 45, the other womens bodies are all starting to sag along with me..
