Just had my first visit with my PCP

I met with my surgeon back in October to start the process, and I just had my first visit with my PCP, who was booked through November. He is very happy that I'm going to get bariatric surgery and said that I should do very well with it. I'm so glad that I got this six-month process started! 

I made my next appointment for January 7th. The appointments don't have to be exactly a month apart, right? 

yes, you need 6 consecutive months. I tried for less than a month and a week apart. If you miss or dont have a month. you may need to start over.

Ask your insurance company. My visits did not have to be consecutive. 

tricare prime - 6 consecutive visits to the nutritionist mine were like > oct1 > nov 23 > dec 1 >jan 17... as long as I got an appointment in each month, did not have to be exactly 30days apart etc

Congrats! Check with your insurance about the timing of the appointments. Mine just required one appointment per calendar month for 6 consecutive months. I actually had to do 7 because my surgeon went on vacation and I had to be sure to not miss a month or I'd have to start all over.

For my insurance company it was calendar months...not exactly days. I was able to use some of my prior visits from my PCP so I didn't have to wait 6 months.
