Open Season for Federal Govt Employees Insurance

Any Govt workers out there?  I'm trying to find out if anyone know which if any of the Insurance plans covers the reconstruction surgery (lower body lift) after WLS.  I looked at the OPM website since it is open season but it will take forever to go through each plan.  Just thought I'd ask if anyone knows.  I have BCBS who say they will cover it if medically necessary - tough to get a Dr to sign off on that.

Any insurance carrier will only cover skin removal surgery if it is medically necessary. No plan will cover it if it is purely cosmetic. Medical necessity criteria often varies by carrier. Call each carrier  offered by your employer and ask them to send you a copy of their criteria. That way you can compare them and see if you think you would meet any of them.
