Major Scale Victory!

February 24, 2015, I had my initial consult with my surgeon, Dr. Dat Nguyen and weighed in at 327.8 pounds. I wasn't my highest weight (that being 340).  I had my surgery, May 11, 2015.

Today, I weighed in at 227.6..... Wow. 100 pounds lost in 8 1/2 months.

100 pounds lost since I started this journey in earnest.  I keep saying that to myself...and it feels GREAT!

So many people take much for granted. But I can't. Waking up in the morning feeling rested and no joint/planter fasciitis pain is truly a blessing. Being able to help my aging parents more. Being able to get on an Elliptical machine and do 30 minutes before heading off for some weight training.

All of it... I'd forgotten what it felt like to be able to simply move. Never again. I am going to enjoy life as it should be. The thought of being able to travel without thinking "Will I be able to fit in the seat?" is exciting.

Now, I know that losing the weight is the easy part. MAINTAINING your weight loss is the hard part. But I am looking at those of you here online that have been successful with long term maintenance and I listen very carefully to what you say and what you don't say. And for that, I am so grateful to this group. You guys ROCK!

So... 100 pounds lost since Initial Consult. 112.4 lost from my highest weight. I've gone from a size 30/32 jean to a size 18. I've gone from a 4X shirt to a 1X. I've gone from 1 minute on the Elliptical to treating 30 minutes as a "simple warm-up".

A year ago, I was dying. High Blood Pressure. Sleep Apnea from hell (stopped breathing 156 an hour). Edema in my legs. Joint pain everywhere.

I still have a long way to go, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it's not a train!

Highest Weight: 340 (7/2/14)  Initial Consult: 327.8 (2/24/15) Home Weigh In on Surgery Date: 291.8 (5/11/15) Today's Weight: 187.4 (5/20/16) Total So Far: 152.6 Pounds!!!!!!

Huge congratulations to you on your 100 pounds in only 8-1/2 months.  That's incredible!

All of your other NSVs are equally incredible.  I'm inspired by your excitement and gratitude!

The only train is the one you're driving on your successful WLS journey!!

So awesome!!!!  100 pounds.  Imagine a 100 lb bucket of chicken fat...carrying that around with you where ever you go.  You don't need to imagine how good it would feel to put it down. Because you know first hand.

I am only 4 pounds away from the 100 pound mark myself. I can't wait to be able to say I've lost 100 pounds.

Keep it up!!!
