rainy day motivation
on 11/12/15 9:06 am
I'm falling into a bit of a pattern lately. I walk every morning between 8 and 9 am. Some mornings (today), I would rather be dragged a mile and a half by a car, than walk a mile and a half when it's 40 degrees and raining sideways!
So, what to do?
I come on this site and read stories of others overcoming their problems and getting it done.
I did it this very morning, It worked to a tee.....again. I do it alot. I could never express my true gratitude for this, but I will do this. I will work my butt off to succeed at this lifestyle, and then try and inspire others.
Every single person on this site can show me either how to, or, how not to do this. I'm down 80 pounds now and it's getting harder to move that scale now, so, to those who share, we're all in this together and, that's not a bad thing.
I bought a Zumba workout DVD for this exact reason. The winter is nearing and with the cold weather comes the excuses (for me anyways). Is there some sort of DVD workout you'd be interested in? I found a "biggest loser" workout for $1 at Walmart...have yet to try it. Anyways you're not alone...we are in this together.

Yes, we're definitely in this together! I come here often & its good to see I'm not alone in the struggle. Yes winter is coming! Nowadays its dark when I leave for work & dark when I come home & I'd think I sure as hell don't feel like riding in, & then I'd get on my bike & ride anyway. Sometimes its the mental part that's hard to get past, some days you get past it & sometimes not, even so I sure as hell don't like walking in the rain! Is there a mall nearby? Dry is definitely better than wet! lol

You can find all kinds of workout videos on YouTube for the rainy days. The one that my doc recommended was 1 Mile In Home Walk. My suggestion, though, watch the video before you try to keep up with it. I decided to do one of the core workout videos once, because it said it was for beginners. It was NOT for my level of beginner. I learned what a burpee was that day... and that I don't have the coordination to do one.
