Store Avoidances
Yesterday I had to run into Walmart. While I was there I thought I should check to see if they had my favorite flavors of Crystal Light Liquid. I had to go down the candy aisle to get to it. I passed a chunky woman that grabbed a bag of Doves and put it into her cart. I thought to myself, "Don't do it! You may end up like me!"
Candy has always been my soft spot. This was my first time in a candy aisle since beginning my journey this past July. To my surprise I wasn't the least bit bothered or intimidated by the candy aisle demons. Are there any aisles that you purposely avoid when shopping?

The bakery isle is the worst! I actually enjoy looking at food I shouldn't eat for some strange reason. One look at the nutrition facts, and I always put it back on the shelf. I think I get personal satisfaction from being able to walk away or something.
I totally get your desire to tell the woman not to buy the chocolates. Whenever I go to the yogurt isle, I always want to tell the people buying regular Yoplait to buy a better yogurt. I mean there are so many better choices, and they probably think they are being healthy!

In the beginning just the smell of passing a fast restaurant like McDonalds or Wendy's would make me want to stop so bad. But now I could care less. I haven't had any of that for 7 years now and I barely notice. It's not even appetizing to me now. I'm not saying I don't have a burger...but I will make one at home. I just don't want to go back to that person that ate that stuff almost everyday.
As far as aisles go. I don't avoid anything anymore. In the beginning I avoided the ice cream and cookie sections.
Ahh the call of the cookie aisle. There were times I'd look & see all these new flavors & think well I can just eat a serving & put the bag away. Then the 1 serving became several servings thru out the day. Protein be damned! I want a real cookie, not a cookie crisp, or low fat, or the kind that's the size of a quarter. So yeah I try to avoid the cookie aisle., or at least rush down the aisle & not look! lol

The smell of baking bread just about does me in, but I still go down the aisle to get to other things.
