If I eat a bunch of food, I'll need lube to squeak into a bikini.

If you haven't yet, I'd suggest calling the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) hotline, 800-950-6264. They have a referral service, and they may be able to help you find someone who can help while accommodating your financial situation.

Go to OA, it is free! Get there right away! If you are really in trouble (out-of-control) with your eating try to do a 90/90 - 90 meetings in 90 days - and grab a sponsor as soon as you find someone that fits with you. A sponsor is someone who has abstained from food (their addiction) for 90 Days or more. They will guide you and you will need to turn your food over to them.

OA - Overeaters Anonymous

FAA - Food Addict Anonymous - For Flour/Sugar Addictions

Greysheeters - A breakoff of OA that has retained the strict Greysheet diet (low carb) - you must get a sponsor at these meetings right away!

OA - HOW - is another break- off of traditional OA.

These are 12 Step Programs based off of AA. They even use the same books. Addiction is Addiction!

FYI, I am going to a meeting this evening. "it works if you work it". You need to get yourself out there and not isolate.

, Layla

P.S. if you can't find meetings in your area, there are online and phone meetings. Look at all 4 of the websites - AO, FAA, OA-HOW, Greysheeters.

I just wanted to say how strong you are to realize early that you are struggling. I wish I had before I regained. That is amazing clarity. You have been given some great advice on this thread. I am also a sugar junkie, but I have been doing a low carb diet since September 6 and although I crave sugar every now and again, I know it is head hunger at this point. It's a good way to break the sugar cycle. The first few days were tough, but I got on okay after. I feel happier and more energized.

Good luck to you!
