Big NSVs this weekend!!
I flew to NYC this weekend. I've had the trip planned for a few months - I haven't flown in just about a year, definitely since before I had the surgery. I got on the flight and asked for the seatbelt extender when I got on because I wanted to make sure I had it, just in case and because I still weigh around 270 so I didn't know if I needed it. Got in the seat and I DIDN'T NEED IT!! I've been flying about 2-3 times a year for the last 6 years and have always needed one. I seriously almost started crying. I texted my husband and told him that my trip was made, I could turn around and come home already lol. Also, the seat was way more comfortable, I wasn't way up in the person next to me's space and the flight was pretty okay because of it. It was WAY better flying.
Then we went to 2 shows on Broadway - again, sitting in the seats were perfectly fine. Not nearly as uncomfortable and instead of sitting through the whole show thinking about how I was all up in someone else's space I was immersed in the show.
I didn't cheat at all, I wasn't tempted once. (Okay, the menu items sounded good but I didn't even think about actually ordering them) I did have a hard time logging things in MFP since I was eating random things that I wasn't cooking but I still made good choices like seafood and steak. I had packed portions of beef jerky and safe snacks to bring with me just in case. I came home last night and this morning weighed myself and found I even managed to lose a pound while there - I wasn't sure I would since I had to eat out the whole time there. I'm not used to that - I cook and measure all meals at home!

Wait, did you know those were the 2 I was going to see? Because I saw those! Hamilton seriously lived up to the hype. I didn't know what to expect, because I'm not interested in American history but holy crap it's amazing! I haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack or talking about it in days. And Fun Home was so different and just as good, I loved it too. I've loved musicals since I was a kid. I love the classics and I love the modern musicals too.
I want to live your life. I didn't in know what you had chose but I picked my dream double.
I saw The Book of Mormon on their first tour. My twin saw it in NYC and she of course loved it but she said the seats were snug.
These days I go to opera. My mother in law takes us. It's always a good time.
Congrats on your NSV and your excellent theater choices.

Lol, we figured if we were going to go we should do it up big! I live in Ohio so I don't exactly get a chance to see great theater. We see tours when they come around and when I visit my best friend in Chicago I see better tours. I've been to NY 3 times now and each time I'm blown away by the shows.
