Anxiety over PCP visit
I LOVE to get on the scale at the doctor's now! LOL! Three years ago my company started this program where you get a discount on your health insurance premium if you get your height, weight, waist measurement, and cholesterol measured and reported in. You also have to complete a questionnaire. Strictly voluntary, but it's $500, you know? And I'm TICKLED to do it. I can't believe my luck that they didn't start this thing six years ago - I would have been mortified, and it would have been worth $500 not to participate.
Something I noticed last time at the doctor's, they say my weight out loud, so other patients can hear (the scale is in a little alcove in the hall). I used to think they only did that for the fatties, as a sort of unconscious (or maybe not so unconscious) attempt to shame us. But no. They do it to everyone. These days I could give a fig. Amazing.
Thanks for asking. It was a great visit. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning. We shall see...thanks.

I have my 6 month post WLS appointment tomorrow (it has actually been 7 months) and for some reason I am afraid that I will hear that I should be doing better.
I have lost almost 100 lbs from my highest weight and over 70 lbs since surgery. I know that an average of 10 lbs a month is fine, although not as impressive as some, but there is that mental voice telling me that I could have done more.
So, the anxiety of this upcoming appointment has provided motivation to exercise more the last few weeks and try harder to stay under my calorie goal. Maybe I should schedule monthly doctor appointments so that I have this same motivation each month.
