I am very interested in having gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Ponce De Leon in Tijuana. Obviously this is a very scary thing to go through. I would really like it if anyone who has used this Dr. could please let me know if this is the right decision. Thanks in advance!

I saw hom in March 2012. I asked and paid for a conversion from a sleeve into a full DS. 

He actually. Gave me a new procedure, the SADI,and I didn't know it until Dec 2014 when I had been having complications. I went to the gastroenterologist,had an EGD and he told me it wasn't a true DS,so I started researching and found the problem I was having could be a side effect of the SAdI.

i went to another doctor in MX and paid AGAIN,for him to revise the SAdI to a true DS.

so,no,I don't recommend Dr. Ponce anymore. Inow only recommend dr. Ungson. His is the experience you are wanting in Mexico. Good luck with your decision making.

Wow.. what hospital does Dr. Ungson work out of?  How are you doing now? 

Hospital Almater in. Mexicali. I am doing awesome now. The problem I was having was gone immediately after the surgery and won't return since the SADI has been properly replaced.

I only lost 12 pounds after the SAdi,in spite of being WELL on plan,with less than 20 gms of carbs a day. 

I have lost 20# since the DS in March. 

Dont like that you had complications.

having my surgery w/ him on 10/15/15. i have heard nothign but great things. i had the opportunity to chose him or another dr and with all his experience i went w/ dr ponce throuhg MBC

I'm actually considering Dr. Lopez now at Vida. Anyone have any info?
