started eating too much and wrong foods..best way to stop

need suggestions to nip in bud before a weight gain..what is the best way its always towards dinner and after.

This is my problem time too. The best thing I've found is to just be busy doing something else. I'm getting really into grown-up coloring books. It's relaxing and impossible to eat while doing.

A few suggestions...

1. Plan your meals. Eat what you've planned. 

2. Plan a snack such as sugar free jello for after dinner if you "need" something.

3. Switch up your eating patterns - eat an earlier dinner, or a later dinner, or your bigger meal at lunch time. 

4. Learn to knit (my latest pursuit)

5. Walk after dinner.

6. Drink a full liter of water in the evening.

Find something to do with your hands so you can't hold food.

If you MUST have something, do a protein shake, or Fage 0% yoghurt w/Truvia and fresh fruit, or something protein.

Drink a lot of water.

Just took up quilting.  Great diversion-no food near quilting supplies.
