How much weight did yall lose during the 6 month pre-op diet phase?
I was just wondering, what kind of weight others had lost or are losing during the 6 month pre-op diet phase?

My pre-op period was closer to 7 months due to my surgeon going on vacation, but I lost 80 lbs and came 12 away from disqualifying myself! My loss has actually been slower since surgery, lol.
It doesn't matter how much I lost (60), or anyone else. The numbers range from 0 - 50+. Everyone is different. If six people respond they lost 50 pounds and four people respond 10+, it's got no connection to what you'll lose. You may lose less, you may lose more - there's just no way of telling. You might set yourself up for disappointment. If you lose 25 pounds, will you be glad, or will you be sad because you didn't lose as much as I did. Follow your plan, and you'll lose weight - that's what matters. I don't know how much you have to lose, but don't be disappointed if you don't reach goal is three months, or six months. Your loss will be what it will be. Remember, during your journey you may gain weight due to fluid retention, you'll experience stalls (a/k/a plateaus) along the way to.
Stay true to your plan. I certainly don't want to discourage you - I guess it's good to know what's possible - but our bodies are individual to us.
Good luck on your journey!

My six month pre op diet ended up being closer to 9 month because of scheduling apts with the dr and insurance authorization after the initial 6 month diet. I lost 21 pounds. I was required to lose 11 by my surgeon. I lost most of it in the first 4 or 5 months.

Does your insurance or surgeon require a certain amount? That is what you need to focus on. I had to complete a six month supervised diet. My insurance did not require that I lose any weight. My surgeon said I could not gain. So I did not lose anything. I needed surgery.
Pre-op compliance is not necessarily an indicator of post-op success. I am proof of that.
Do your best, but do not beat yourself up if you do not lose as much as you are hoping for.

The program in Alberta requires you lose 10% of your weight in order to qualify for surgery.
I was accepted into the program at the end of April but my orientation isn't until October, and during this time I've already lost the 10% on my own. Looking forward to seeing how much more I lose with the clinic's diet!
I had six months worth of weigh ins, support group meetings, and food journaling, but was not required to lose any weight during that 6 months. A month prior to my surgery, my surgeon ( I'm in Greenville, btw..I see you're in Gaffney. ) wanted me to lose 8% of my weight while on the 30 days of Optifast that he uses as a pre-surgery diet. I think I just eked by...lol.
It depends on your insurance, and/or your surgeon's requirements. There are many different requirements out there.

I lost 25 in the two months from consultation to surgery. But I was denied in 2013. So from 2013 to 2015 I quit drinking diet sodas and tried to limit fast foods. During the pre-op 2 months, I worked on not eating after dinner (a time for me to graze for a few hours). I also worked on trying to not eat/drink at the same time and stopping caffeine.
