Small grap size knot under incision...help?
Ok so I had the sleeve done laparoscopic on September 1st and I had five incisions that were about a half inch and then I had the one on my right side beside my belly button that's about an inch or so big, it has a knot under it and it's been there for a little over a week, it's not red, feverish or anything it just sore, the Dr said that one would be more sore because that's the one where they pull the stomach through, he said it may be some scar tissue and let's give it the six weeks to heal and see how it does.... Has anyone ever had this? Everything else has been great, I feel great and have list 16lbs since the first.
I had RNY, but I also had one that looked different than the rest, it was larger and indented and looked much worse, I was worried but over time the difference disappeared. If the Doc's not concerned and it is not infected I wouldn't worry.

Yes, that is common. It is almost certainly scar tissue. If the incision is completely closed, you can gently massage the area a couple of times a day to help loosen it.

I too had "the knot". The doctors answered same as yours. I did not have any redness associated with the site. It was very sore post-op and could still be felt for about three to four months.
I hope all is well and it heals. Do not hesitate to call your physician if the redness increases....
I am 7 years out and still have a pea-sized knot under one of my incisions. My doctor said it was scar tissue and nothing to be worried about. It doesn't hurt, it's just there.
