Hair Loss
I am 3 months post op from VSG and I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing constant hair loss. I am aware there is hair loss after such surgery but can anyone share their experiences with this and an approximate idea of when it may start to grow back again? Also do you lose so much that the scalp[ will become visible? I appreciate any feedback on this thank you.
I am almost 7 months post op. I started really losing at about 3 months and so far can't see a slow down. I cut my hair short a couple months ago. I figured if I didn't see as much in the sink it wouldn't bother me as bad lol. I do have to be careful in how I brush my hair. An area on each side is getting pretty thin. I'm hoping that the loss will slow down soon.

Make sure you are getting enough protein. Look into adding Biotin to your vitamins. I am at 9 months post and it slowed down a little while ago. (I didn't know it but some doctors have their patients start with the biotin and the other vitamins 3 mo before surgery.)

You're right on time for telogen effluvium (google it to learn more) to begin!
It lasts only a few months and stops on it's own. If your hair is long and straight, now is the time for a makeover with layers, for new hairs will start emerging (they are what is causing the shedding right now) and you don't want to resemble a chia pet.
