Cocotein - Is this a protein option?
I'm looking for Protein options. I was on GNC website and found Cocotein. I'm having a rough time with some of the shakes. Is this a good option?
It has a little more sugar than the ones I have been using, but I thought it might be an option occasionally.
I will be 3 weeks post op on Wednesday. What are your thoughts?

It says Whey protein isolate. My fear is it will taste like Isopure, which at this point maybe I should try again. My taste has changed so much.
Other Ingredients: Filtered Water, whey (milk) protein isolate, Coconut (Tree Nut) Water Concentrate, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Phosphoric Acid, Sucralose, FD&C Red 40
The only way to know if you like it is to try it. Most likely the sugar is from coconu****er.

Isopure tastes like ass to me. I don't imagine this would be much better :(
I still haven't found a protein powder or supplement I particularly care for. The best I can do is tolerate it or doctor it up to disguise the taste.
The best I can get down these days is either protein coffee or protein ice cream. I also make a smoothie with strawberry Body Fortress with some frozen strawberries and bananas thrown in.
But the clear type protein drinks? Can't stomach them.

Make sure it's 100% whey protein isolate and not a "blend" or "concentrate". I think the numbers are respectable enough that you should give it a shot. If you go into a local GNC they will usually mix up a sample for you to try. If that's not an option, try just ordering a couple sample packets of it first.

I tried it and I like it. I have bought several bottles since then.
i didn't like the aisopure at all,but this tastes better to me. I also count the protein in it.
Yes--I really like GNC's Cocotein. Our bariatric support group at John's Hopkins just had a "protein supplement" meeting where we could try about 15 different types of protein supplements and Cocotein from GNC was one of my favorites. It's a clear-type liquid too so it mixes well for making a high-protein diet jello. The GNC Cocotein also has a much better taste than their IsoPure drinks.
