Giving away clothes?

I am now 9 months post surgery and near my goal weight.  I wear a medium/size 12. The old clothes issue becomes less of an issue as time goes on-I got used to my new eating and developed confidence for the long term.  After a few months I got rid of all my 2X and 3Xs.  People say sell them - I just donated them to a church-run place because they need larger sized clothes.  I did drop off a beautiful Rachael Zoe leather jacket ($350) at a consignment shop - I got $10 for it.  So I really think it's better to give it away and help people who do not (yet) have the opportunity to have WLS.

I stopped getting rid of clothes because my 1Xs were winter clothes and the Shining Light Thrift Shop is small and needs clothes in season.  Now that it is fall, I need to work through if I am ready to release my 1Xs and XLs.  Having these clothes upstairs in a suitcase saved me a lot of money when my last conventional diet failed (going up) and when I lost the weight after WLS (going down).  I feel confident that I will never be a 2X or 3X again, not so confident that I will never be an XL again.  I will consider this issue and I may need more time.  However, anything that I don't really like is going to the Shining Light.

WLS works on your stomach - you have to work on your own head.
