Just wondering if there is a forum for this procedure, or if anyone here is familiar with this surgery.

Thanks guys,

Lora

I suppose that I was mistaken on "terms" and it it the DS Loop on here. Please forgive, and yes it is concerning weight loss. I myself am out 4 1/2 years from WLS, and have been a member of this site for almost 5.

Member Services, perhaps it's time for you to do some research on current forms of WLS. The SADI/SIPS/Loop DS has been around for about five years now...

In doing a search about the procedure, 1NJmommy (who is on OH) page came up. It states she had this procedure done on January 23, 2015.  Not sure if she still comes on OH but maybe she can help you out.  Good Luck!

I'v been looking in the search and found some ppl several years out, but had to type in DS Loop. I was just unfamiliar with the correct terms, but will definitely be doing some research since this is my daughter. She is at an unhealthy weight and I think that this may be a good option. I am far from done researching.

It seems that many people who had this procedure are posting on the DS forum.  It is also called SADI I believe.

Personally I would want more data on a surgery before I would want to consider it for a loved one.  I'm not even sure it is a covered procedure by many insurance companies.

From what I have heard it is a take off on the DS procedure with less malabsorption, thus less chance of problems.

I would want someone I loved to get a surgery with a lot better track record. All of yhe single anastomosis surgeries are new, seldom performed, and have had a lot of complications.

For a young person, the sleeve seems to be the best choice, but that's without knowing any other details about her.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

Thanks. That is why I am researching, havnt found the complications of this surgery vs other absorption restricted surgeries. She definitely needs more than just restriction alone, or sleeve would be wonderful.
