Surgery is in 5 hours....i cant sleep. Im so thirsty

Just wondering why they hold back the liquid when avoid dehydration seems to be the name of the game.  Im thirsty and scared and I cant sleep

I hope your surgery went well. Please let us know.  My only guess is they don't want ANYTHING in the stomach. They will replenish fluids with an IV I am sure. What an exciting day.

Well the surgery  went amazingly well.  i had a little nausea when they took the intubation tube out but i thought i dreamt that.  I am already home.  Only a little pain in the one incision they actually pulled the stomach out of.  But the ice pack solves that.  I will post more as the days progress.  Thanks for all the well wishes.  So glad i found this site.  Jello is my new Bff.

Thankyou so much! I am amazed how little pain there is.  Im finding it hard to get the liquid in fast enough to meet 4oz per hour though....
