Vegetarian/Vegan diet -any Asian or just Indian food loving post-op forum members ?

Before I got with this last boyfriend who insisted on eating like a kid .. I bought a bunch of pulses and beans condiments and spices to experiment with the ( largely vegetarian) recipes in a cookbook called 1000 Indian dishes .
Most people in Asia are vegetarians ! Are there any Asian recipe loving successful bariatric post-ops out there who'd like to share their tips and tricks and favorite recipes with us ?
Bariatric surgery is also huge in Asia .. I'm hoping a few people from there come to this forum . I'd REALLY like to hear about your experience losing weight /maintaining with pulses , bean dishes and other vegetarian dishes . Thanks !!
Hi! I'm not post op but am mostly ovo-lacto vegetarian. I eat a little meat now and then but mostly my protein comes from plant sources. I highly recommend you follow two bariatric doctors - Dr. Matthew Weiner in Michigan and Dr. Garth Davis in Texas. Dr. Weiner is also a nutrition expert who wrote the book A Pound of Cure and supports having dairy along with his lifestyle changes. Dr. Davis supports a vegan lifestyle for himself and his patients. His book Proteinaholic is due out October 6, 2015. I've been in contact with both via private message on Facebook and they have been an amazing source of encouragement and information. From experience, I can tell you that you will not get a lot of support from this group for this issue.

Lol! I actually love Native American food too ... the many races of ;ova corns, mutton stews etc. Every year when I go to Las Vegas fora worldwide work convention I take a few weeks to travel through the Hopi Navaho and Havasupai reservations near the Grand Canyon. I love the beauty of the painted desert and the culture ...there are many great artists working traditional crafts there too..
I'm pre-op, but I've been a vegetarian (absolutely nothing with a face) for 23 years (that makes me sound old). My husband and I tend to eat a lot of Asian food. My surgery is Nov 6. I'd be happy to keep in touch and share recipes.
I'd love a forum dedicated to a successful bariatric vegetarian diet.

If you are cooking Indian food, the key is to bloom your spices. They need to be cooked beforehand so they open up. I don't know which beans you're using. Channa masala is my favourite for chickpeas, second would be a Tangine with Ras el hanout (Moroccan). I haven't had any pork since I was 5, so I don't know how ham would pair. I'm guessing just add less salt?
