I was fired today
I'm sick to my stomach. I've been looking for another job for 3 months because I hate my job but they beat me to it and fired me today. I've never been fired before :( Financially we're semi okay for a while but I hate the unknown, especially when I've already been looking for 3 months! I'm so upset not knowing when I might find a job again. I haven't been without a job since I was 13 years old, so 20 years now. I feel so lost.

UGH! Prayers for you- and a big cyber hug too. I'm sure it will all work out for the better. New beginnings are hard, but many times they are worth it.

I'm so sorry!
When a door is closed...a window usually opens. Since you hated the job anyway, this might be just the thing you needed to move forward. Try to look on the bright side, now you have more time to look for that perfect job!

Oh no! I'm sorry. I'm glad you're semi-ok financially, but it's such a major personal and emotional blow to lose a job, even if you were already looking for something else. Dive into the job hunt and use your new free time to craft the best resume and cover letter you can come up with! *Hugs*
As everyone has said, hang in there. Something will come up. I hear the job market is hot. There was an article on USA Today that Amazon is hiring thousands and paying $19 an hour. As you said you hated it there anyway.
DO NOT let this derail your weight loss. Take this extra time to concentrate on you and keep eating right and get out and walk, bike or what ever you like to do.
Good Luck!

I had been with the same company for almost 14 years... had wanted to go back to school and get out of that industry for quite some time, but didn't know how to go about it. I ended up getting fired from that job and a couple others since then... I'm not a quitter, so they had to come up with reasons to fire me... usually not very good ones. I never thought there would be "life after _______" But there really is. Let the dust settle a little bit, file for unemployment right away and see where your journey takes you. Maybe go to worksource (if you have one near you) (aka unemployment office) and see what kind of free classes they offer. Some will help you re-do your resume, computer classes, etc. They sometimes also have some job listings that you don't necessarily see other places. Turn that frown upside down. ;-) Like another poster said, don't let this bump in the road derail your weight loss efforts! Virtual hugs to you!
I'm so sorry :( That really sucks!
