If you will re-read my reply,  you will see that I gave her the bare minimum vitamin regimen and told her to get labs to find out what else she needs.

You still have not identified this mystery cancer-prevention vitamin.  If you cannot identify it, quit talking about it!

I agree about having labs checked. Your doctor can then give you some guidance on vitamins based on your results.

What kind of surgery did you have Claudette ?  RNY ers have slightly different vitamin absorption than DSers and sleevers from what I understand don't malabsorb at all.

I personally take about 2 times the recommended daily dose 5 years post op RNY of multi chewable gummies  - then I take calcium citrate an whatever i feel I'm lacking - bilberry for vision improvement huperzine a and evening primrose oil for shredding and memory retention , horse chestnut so I don't get varicose veins ..probiotics for shredding and skin health . LOTS of chewable vitamin C too for skin repair sun damage and free radical /pollution damage prevention like 2000 mgs a day . (((()))) good for you fortifying to figure it out -

The best thing is to get labs drawn and post at your surgery forum. There ae lots of experts on here who will help you decipher the results :)

Don’t beat yourself up Claudette. The first step is just taking it a day at a time and ridding yourself of the guilt and shame. You’re human and not perfect. Just get back on the wagon and start today anew. You’ve got this!

As for vitamins and routine, I personally take Vita4Life products and that’s all I require. I’ve been taking them since my surgery 6 years ago and I’ve always had excellent labs. I’ve never had deficiencies. Here’s my routine:

  • Multi-Standard (1 in the morning, 1 at lunch, 1 at dinner, 1 at bed time)
  • Calcium chelate (can be taken with iron due to chelation) (3 times per day)
  • D3 (1 in the morning)
  • Sublingual B-12 (1 in the evening)

I work out 6 days a week. I know that’s a lot and most people don’t do that, but I lift weights and am constantly striving to build muscle. I also am vegan and it makes that difficult, so I have to work much harder than most people with the added issue of not being able to eat as much per meal as I used to be able to. But, truly… these vitamins are a God send for me. I wish you the best of luck. You have the strength to do this!

Check them out. Good luck finding the products that work for you. Please… always take your supplements!
