Forgot to eat, and felt the consequences!
Oh my. I had a busy day today running around with my cray mother (who is starting to show the early signs of dimenta) and my sister. I had a small cup of soup at panera around 11:30, and then we were at the mall for almost 4 hours, after which I came home and had to head right back out for errands with the hubs. Around 6:00 we were at Walmart and suddenly I got so sick to my stomach and felt weak and almost a little faint... and I realized I had barely anything to eat or drink today! I felt awful. Absolutely awful. It was the first day since my surgery that I haven't been ony nutrition and liquids game 100% and wow did it make me miserable. At least perhaps in the future I'll remember this feeling and remind myself to eat/drink!
I know that whenever I had to do a lot of running around I'd pack some jerky & a protein bar & leave it in my purse, that way I'd be able to have a little something if I started to feel weak. It was just really something to tide me over till I got a meal.

my husband laughs because I have food at work (protein shakes..canned veggies).
I always have one of those boxed shakes on me when I am on the road. They are shelf stable. Not so tasty warm, but if the choice is warm vanilla, or passing out/getting sick..I pick warm vanilla!

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
The awful feeling could have been lack of fluids even more than no food. Either way, it's a good reminder.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

I found that very difficult to manage during the full fluids/pureed stages of my post-op eating plan. Once I was allowed to eat more purse-friendly foods (protein bars, jerky, etc.), as long as I had something in my bag and my bottle of water, I fared much better. I'm sure you will, too!
