Vitamins
I have been having a devil of a time finding a multivitamin. I was wanting a chewable (not gummie) with 18% iron. It seemed that the iron percentage was the kicker. However, after a lot of searching I found the Centrum Chewables would fit my needs perfectly. Little did I know they would be so difficult to find in a large metropolis, but I persevered until I located them...at Target for only $8.09/100.
Great! Little did I know that not all Targets carry them, so onto my 3rd store, I finally located a bottle. Yes, only one bottle was available in the entire store...and the price was $9.99, not $8.09 as stated on their website. However, a quick trip, with the bottle in hand, to customer service, they price matched their website price...$8.09. I used my Redcard for another 5% off. YAY! I won the battle!!
Today I am going to order them online at Target.com at the $8.09 and still will be able to get my 5% Redcard discount. I will order 3 bottles so I can get free shipping.

Can I ask why the iron in your multi was the determining factor? Iron deficiency is a common problem among our population and so many of us don't even count the multi iron as we have to supplement well to remain stable.
Track your labs and if you see a downward trend AT ALL start supplementing immediately - it is nearly impossible to supplement yourself to health once your ferritin tanks - I needed two infusions in two years before I found what works for me

The 18% iron is required by the dietitian at my center, maybe by the doc too. Age was not a determining factor, this is what everyone in my class was told. From my estimate there are 3 in my class that are 60+ years old (myself included).

I love my Centrum Chewable Orange. I get it for $7.69 via the Amazon "Subscribe and Save" (if you have 5 or more Subscription items, you actually save 15% instead). That, coupled with my 5% cash back on Amazon purchases, free shipping, and not having to set foot inside Target makes me a happy camper!
Awesome that you found them! Sounded like a hassle!

If you're depending on a multi for your iron intake, you want to keep in mind that the calcium in the multi will compete with the iron for absorption. You usually wind up on the losing end of both iron and calcium, so it's important to supplement both if you're taking vitamins orally.

Thanks for your insight, Valerie! I will keep this in mind to ask my dietitian when I see her next week. However, I will have to follow her instructions.
