Hey everyone!

I was sleeved on 8/11 and we are leaving for Disney on 9/11. Has anyone gone post sleeve? Any recommendations on restaurants that are more WLS friendly? (FYI, I'm back on regular food 9/9.) Any tips you can pass along will be much appreciated!

Thanks!!

The place is loaded with hot dogs, fries and soda.  The nicer restaurants are crowded, expensive and you need reservations.  Figure about $200 to feed a family of four something that would cost them $40 at Perkins.

I carry protein bars and buy lots of bottled water.  I eat the hot dogs and threw away the buns.  People bring in soft sided coolers to the main park.  Everything you carry in will be checked by security.

If you're willing to spend the money, you can find some good options.  Use this link to look ahead and plan some options.

I second the bring protein bar options.  I was at Disney World about a month and a half ago.  There were many temptations around, but fortunately we were busy enough that it was easy to resist.  Our big meal was at Cinderella's castle.  The menu there actually wasn't too bad.

Just went to Disney in June.  Couldn't have cared less about eating.  I packed small things for all of us to avoid eating crap -- jerky, string cheese, fruit, etc -- and took in a water bottle for me.  Ice water is free in the park -- so we took advantage of that.  My family doesn't drink pop -- so that worked well -- and they serve it in disposable cups -- so you don't have to carry anything that way.

My husband and son only ate one meal in the park -- and I ate a string cheese.  We would eat a nice dinner in a small family restaurant later -- and several times I just cooked in our hotel room.  It's not a big deal.

Bring your own food and if they tell you that you cant bring it in, tell them it is a medical necessity.   Shouldn't be problem.

I brought food and drink into rock concerts after my sleeve.  Once I said medical need, they.were totally cool.

Have fun.

You can check out the menus at all the restaurants online at http://allears.net/dining/menu

I am going next September!  If you go to the table it down restaurants and let them know you're special diet in your reservations, the chef will make you something or come out and discuss what you can eat.

I'm just doing counter service meals and there are some great choices.
