Iron supplement side affect

I had R n Y surgery in 2002. My hemoglobin was a 4.2. I spent 3 days in hospital received 4units of blood. The neUron 350mg caps gave me heart palpitations, itchy tingling scalp, and panic anxiety. I called ER they  told me there are no side affects like that with iron. It's the only thing I took??? Has this happened to anyone else?????

I take an ounce of liquid iron a day and have not had any of those side effects. Have you spoke to your surgeon?

My iron was low on recent labs and I doubled my daily dose and 3 months later my iron went down even more.  Dr. told me to triple daily dose of iron.  My small bowel is just not absorbing the iron from food or supplements - so I'm having my first iron infusion this week.

I've not noticed any of the symptoms you mentioned.  I have had dark bm's and some constipation from upping the iron dose.

My hemoglobin is low, but not enough for blood transfusion.
