too skinny?

After surgery, you'll probably be eating 600 - 800 calories per day. If "starving" is in your head (it probably is), surgery won't change that.

According to the professionals it will change that my dear! It's a restrictive measure. Also leptin And ghrelin (hunger hormones) are significantly reduced so I won't be hungry and 4 bites should satisfy me...
600-800 will satisfy me they same way it satisfies you...
Glad you know more than my successful post-op self, "dearie" :)
Grehlin usually does not go away completely, nor does it go away for everyone. Surgery also does not fix emotional or "head" hunger. So yes, it may be different, but don't count on anything being completely fixed.

OK so i am definitely too skinny, I am struggling to get to and maintain over 100 pounds. I am 5'2" was 280 when I had the surgery in 2008. I have since had 5 abdominal surgeries. I have no desire to eat and most times when I do I end up nauseous .My dr is at a loss. Anyone ever have anything like this?
It sounds like you're on the cusp of qualifying/not qualifying for surgery., but it sounds like you're still in the obese category, just on the fringes of ins requirements.
I don't think you'll have a problem gaining weight if you lost too much, not many on here has that kind of problem. The only people I can think of that might, & it's a big if at that, lose too much at your weight, are the ones who have a malabsorption as well as a restrictive type of weight loss procedure., those are the ones who have a rny or the DS.
As far as the people who look like they've lost too much, it may be that they didn't lose too much, you may not be used to seeing them at a proper weight. Also where they lose they weight is a factor too, weight might come off quicker in some areas & slow in others. It takes awhile for all the fat to redistribute itself.
I'm sure you'll still have plenty of curves, if anything try weight lifting, exercise, squats etc. He'll still have plenty of muscle to hold on to, rather than fat.

I don't know about your friends, but if someone asked ME if they could post my picture so a bunch of random strangers could comment on my body and make assumptions about my health, they'd get a big old HELL NO.
