When you come home from the hospital, can you go upstairs?  My bedroom is on the second floor, so I want to know if I need to set up a "bedroom" on the main floor.

Simple mobility shouldn't be too much of an issue. I was sore and had pain but getting around wasn't awful. If you think it will be too much then plan on being downstairs but it didn't affect me that way. Not much help I know.

You may not be comfortable in your bed right away (I know I wasn't!).  I slept in the recliner the the first few nights on in a comfy chair.

I went upstairs (and back down) just once a day, to go to bed. Otherwise I laid on the sofa a lot the first few days. The only issue I recall was that I had to be careful when sitting up in bed the first day or so - my belly was tender. But it felt great to sleep in my own bed!

I was able to go up and down the stairs slowly without a problem. However laying in bed was a different story. I couldn't lay flat, or on either side. The first two night I was in the recliner.

My hospital required me to walk up and down stairs before I was released.
