I have used the sticks and pretty much lived in Ketosis pre and post op.

I knock out ALL carbs for a few days to get into Ketosis and the keep them as close to 20 total (not net)carbs a day to lose

Very low calorie diets, like ours post-op, also can put you into ketosis. Usually ketogenic diets follow macros you calculate; generally you are 20g of net carbs or less a day.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
