Hi all,

2nd of 15 day on Optifast and all in all going pretty good but three weeks seems so far away. Did anyone get a weird sensation on their tongue when drinking the shakes, its' hard to explain the sensation but it's there after I drink the shakes. I don't its an allergic reaction just a strange sensation.

I've been reading some other forums on here and some people are allowed a small amount of food but I'm only on 4 shakes, jello, coffee, tea, etc... I'm having my surgery at Toronto Western Hospital and wonder why the diet varies from hospitals?

Also i'm having caffeine in my one morning coffee and the diet pop....should everything be caffeine free?

I'm hoping the hunger subsides soon. :)

Surgeons can have very different plans. I didn't have to do any pre-op liquid diet at all, just nothing to eat after 8pm the night before surgery.

Regarding caffeine, call your doctor's office to ask, they should be able to give you an easy answer.
