Surgery 8/19/2015 and cannot tolerate whey protein
Just FYI: either you misunderstood your surgeon or your surgeon doesn't understand anything about protein supplements. The "isolate" has nothing to do with the thinner, fruity aspect of the specific nectar drinks you are talking about. They happen to be protein isolate, but MANY of the protein products that are the original milky, shake-like type are also whey isolate!
All that "isolate" means is that it is processed such that almost all of the lactose has been removed while preserving the protein content (and the lactose in other types of protein supplements is what bothers some people).

I second the suggestion to try to Jay Robb egg white protein powders. Many of his flavors are very good.
Also, make sure that the powders you are using are whey isolate in case it is the lactose in other types that is bothering you. (Check the ones that you have already tried to see what type of protein it specifies, as well, to see if that is what may be bothering you.)
