Seems soybean oil is the worst type of oil, and is even worse than a high sugar diet!  The article talks about other oils as well.

Do you use coconut oil instead of other oils?  I use mostly olive oil and grapeseed oil.  But I have heard good things of coconut.

What is your favorite oil to cook with and use in salads?

In general, I do not use corn/soy/canola oil.  I use olive oil, unrefined coconut oil and butter.  I use peanut oil when I fry chicken for my family.  I actually make our butter from the cream from our milk.  Truthfully, I don't fry a lot of things, so my additional oil usage is minimal.

I mostly use olive oil too.  But someone told me that unless you buy really high end olive oil, your olive oil has hardly if not any olives in it.  I have not researched this.  Reading your post actually reminded me of this person's comment.  Has anyone else heard this?

My take-away is that I can't afford olive oil...

I have always heard that Evoo needs to be processed in one country...I have tried some of the CA brands and find them great to cook with and top veggie/marinades for meat.

I try to avoid soy/corn/canola.

I use organic oils like coconut, sunflower, walnut, macadamia, avocado, hemp seed oil..etc..

for frying - saute - I use coconut oil, ghee, bacon fat,  or other high temperature oils.. I also use palm oil..

if  I don't want coconut flavor in my food - I use refined coconut oil (also organic)

I don't like most olive oils - and if i use any - i use organic EVOO only - small qty - so I can afford that. lol.

I was not aware that most EVOO are tampered with.. ugh..
