Hello,

I had gastric bypass in March 2008, my highest weight was 270 lbs. after surgery I went down to 140 lbs. it was never an easy ride, I had issues since the beginning of my surgery, problem is a few months after surgery I lost my insurance and medical is really hard to approve any specialist visits.

I had gain a lot of weight I am up to 230 lbs. I sincerely dont' eat as much as before but not as little as first when surgery.

I had a lot of problems with my stomach multiple ER visits throughout the years no gallstones or kidney stones found, I had 3 obstructions and I suffer from acid reflux and chronic stomach pain and lethargy, I don't eat sugars I simply can't they make sick, I have cut down on bad carbs and try to minimize the proteins because I get sick when I eat meats or proteins; the county doctors don't know what to do with me and I don't know what to do either.

I don't have a lot energy but I know I have to find it somewhere to exercise and star losing weight I just don't know how.

any advice will be welcome.

Hi Cristina, yes I had them checked about a year ago, I had to chase my results but when I finally found out they were normal.

Are you taking your vitamins and have you had your Bariatric Bloodwork done? The "I don't have a lot of energy" made me think of that. Are you counting your protein and drinking your water? Protein first, then vegetables and if you have any room fruit or starch. A lot of people use My fitness Pal to track things. And don't drink with meals! Good Luck.

I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well and on top of that not getting answers from the medical community...must be frustrating.

I think that group would be a great idea for you.  See if you can join a Weigh****chers or even a just a buddy up with a friend.  Losing weight with a friend is always more fun than doing it alone.  That's how I started going to the gym.  I went with a group of friends.  It was a lot easier to get the motivation to go when I had fun.

Good Luck

You're probably eating too many calories.  You say " I sincerely don't eat as much as before but not as little as first when surgery." You don't need to eat as much as before to gain weight.  What does a typical day look like?  What exactly are you eating?

I agree, you are eating too much. Exercise is nice, but it's not going to help you lose weight. Weigh and track your food, and cut back. You'll lose.

What kind of doctors have you seen? You need to find a bariatric specialist who has experience with surgery patients, and it may take talking to several before you can get an answer. Call around and see if you can find someone who'll do a one-off visit and work with your insurance situation.
