So I'm looking at protein shakes (powder) does anyone have any good recommendations.  I tried one and loved it, but the label came off and I forgot what it was.  So I bought a few more and they are disgusting.

I have surger on Tuesday.  I can't wait.

Your taste will change so much after surgery.  The protein you loved before surgery will taste like monkey butt after.  Go to a Vitamin Shoppe and buy sample packets.  Don't invest in a huge tub of protein until after surgery and you know you like it.  The Vitamin Shoppe and GNC will often let you return an opened tub of protein if you don't like it and exchange it for something you do like.  Department stores like Walmart or Target will not.

So true!

Loved strawberry flavored everything..now it tastes sickly artificially sweet.

What I have fallen in love with is savory. Like a chocolate protein shake made with unsweetend chocolate almond milk with PB 2 powder in it. Not too sweet and yummy nutty

You can buy samples on ebay and amazon too.  I'm sure there are other sites.  I like the syntrax protein powders.  They come in a variety of flavors.  Sometimes you can take some protein and dress it up with a teaspoon or two of sugar free pudding mix.  Also note that your tastes may change after surgery.  Also if you are buying tubs of protein from places like vitamin shoppe or GNC they will let you return protein.  I'm sure there is a limit, but if it happens a time or two it shouldn't be that much of an issue.

Thank you so much.  No one has told me this.  I just bought a tub of chocolate on Amazon.  This is the first GREAT advice I have received.  I really appreciate it.

I like the Jay Robb protein powders; you can get whey protein or egg white protein and they have several flavors.  I get mine at a local health store, but you can get them at GNC or Amazon.

Unjury has a great starter pack with 5 different flavors:  http://www.unjury.com/unjury-starter-kit

The Chicken Soup flavor is really yummy, bu****ch out for the sodium.

PS:  My new favorite powdered mix is called Rule 1.  I get it at the Nutrimart across the street from my office.  No chemically taste, and lots of flavors to choose from.
