Okay some people might laugh but I think this is valid question! Okay so let's say my family orders pizza...I like ham, mushrooms and italian sausage if I scrape the cheese sauce and toppings off the crust...can I eat it?? Im only 6 days in and you know on a liquid diet probably all of us get these crazy ideas!

Are cheese, tomato sauce, ham, sausage, etc on this phase of your post op diet plan given to you by your surgeon?

What surgery did you have?

Yeah then it sounds like a pretty bad idea tbh. Ask your family to eat the pizza in another room or to order pizza in a few weeks when you'll be less tempted.

I think you're misunderstand me? I'm asking if in a couple of months is that something I can do....?

I ate the toppings off of two slices at about 4 mos. post-op.  I was very satisfied with just the flavor, didn't miss the crust at all. The seasonings were a bit much even then, so I'm sure I would have regretted it if I'd eaten it earlier.

(When I consider that I used to consume an entire Medium combo pizza by myself, I thought this was a pretty significant NSV!)

If you'd like a bit of flavor in your next meals (after purees) you might want to try the Ricotta Bake recipe by Eggface--good flavor, great protein, no guilt!

Lol ohhhhh! PHEW! I was like 'what is this chick crazy wanting to eat sausage and cheese 6 days out?!"

In that case, seems OK to me if everything is on your plan.

I'm glad you clarified and said in the future ;) I have heard scary questions about blending all sorts of things LOL

So... short answer is yeah, sure

but... I personally have attempted to not eat things (if I can avoid it) that are half-assed (for lack of a better word at 3AM) versions of food... so the insides of sandwiches and toppings off pizza (that look sort of masticated and hideous on the plate) versus making something for me that looks appealing that I can eat the whole thing... psychologically stuff like that sends a message that life is less than or missing something (sort of a "diet mentality" reinforced) and that is far from the truth. Anyway... just a thought.

Best to you on your WLS journey. Best decision I ever made... hope you will feel the same. ~Shelly
