Salad

Yes, those are the statistics for lettuce. Problem is, 99% of the time, 1c plain iceberg lettuce != a "salad" if you make one at home or order one at a restaurant.
If someone wanted plain lettuce, that would be very different than a "salad" with dressing, veggies, and whatever.

VSG 2013, RNY conversion 2019 due to GERD. Trendweight here!
My VSG was done 3/31 and raw veggies are still iffy for me. I can handle tomatoes just fine, but peppers, salad greens, carrots, and celery don't sit well. Cooked veggies are totally fine, and beef is one of the first proteins I tried - I tolerate it much better than chicken or fish at this point.
I waited three months for my first salad. It takes time to heal properly and eating things too soon can lead to vomiting and slower healing. I also was more than three months out before my first steak. It was a tiny filet cooked medium rare with a small side salad and I never enjoyed a meal so much before or since.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I never had a problem with salad. I always loved it and started eating them again around 4 months. I eat grilled chicken or steak with a small salad a few times per week. One of my favorite meals.

I won't hold it against you. I'll focus on the steak part and ignore the salad reference.

My surgeon's office advised against eating any raw vegetables, including salad, for at least three months after surgery.
Even now I have problems with eating lettuce. I try to stick to proteins, then eat some cooked vegetables. If I eat out, I'll often order a chicken salad and barely touch the greens. They feel like they just sit in my sleeve.
Beef will probably be easier for you to eat than lettuce at this point. If you eat ground beef, try eating it while it's moist since it will be easier to tolerate. Dry foods - like chicken breast - can be difficult this early post surgery.

I was not allowed raw veggies for 6 months. They are hard to digest. I was allowed a very small amount of cooked veggies. Even at five years out, I still can't eat raw carrots. They come right back up.
To the OP: I would not take the chance on a salad yet. Eat your protein. There will be lots of time for salad when you are much further out from surgery.
My plan said no veggies of any sort for ten years. I'm pretty sure that's what it said anyway.
