9 years yesterday. Thanks OH

It was 9 years yesterday since I had WLS and I wanted to say thanks to ObesityHelp... made a lot of friends and gained a lot of support here that has helped me these 3287 days ;)

Having WLS was the BEST GIFT I EVER GAVE MYSELF.

For those starting out... stay involved in the wls community, having a support network of family, friends "real world & interwebs" and an open dialogue with your doctors helps... we are all in this together :) so if/when LIFE HAPPENS you will have people who get it and will help you adjust your sails.

Take your vitamins and get your labs done. Consider that non-negotiable like you signed a contract when you said yes to WLS.

Try and remember there is no finish-line, no balloons fall from the sky if/when that magic # or pant size happens, you wake up to more of the same the next day, so every day aim for the best you can... no beating yourself up if the gym didn't happen and a cupcake did, acknowledge it, figure out a strategy for the next time (better planning, work on the head stuff, reduce stressors, eliminate toxic people, places, post here, ask for help from your people, etc) take action where you can and then move forward.

A few pictures are on the blog if you are interested (link in signature)

xo & thanks to my OH pals ~Shelly
