I'm officially down 100 lbs since October!! I'm so happy. I'm 20 lbs away from my lowest ever post-puberty weight! To celebrate the weight loss (and being off my diabetes and BP meds), I signed up for the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure. I'll be doing their 29-mile tour next month. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time with my bike for the next few weeks!

Here's my tour page!

That's awesome, what a great way to celebrate!

As a fellow cyclist and PNW native, that ride sounds just great. Have you done many ~30 mi rides? That's been my standard Saturday ride, just the right length to get up a good sweat without turning my legs to spaghetti :)

My typical ride a couple times a week has been about 21 miles, so I need to work my way up a little. The biggest thing I'm worried about is that I don't know how hilly the course will be. I ride right next to the Columbia River though, and the wind is always BRUTAL on my way back, so I'm hoping that kind of "counts" as hill training, hahaha.

Do you have a course map? You can plug that into MapMyRide and it'll give you an elevation preview so you'll know where to watch out for incline.

And wind TOTALLY counts, it's even worse than hills sometimes!!
