Barrett's Esophagus

I was diagnosed with this before surgery, and chose RNY because of it. I have read several others have been diagnosed with this as well, and just wanted to know how your experience has been. Did it get better or go away? My GERD is gone, but I need to follow up with my PCP next visit to schedule the next scope. Thanks!

I have to go in every 6 months ****il I reach five years out from surgery) for an endoscopy to watch the areas where they removed 6 tumors.  After five years I will go once a year for the next three years and then once every five years.  My GERD has been cured, but they are keeping me on a PPI for five years.  My esophagus appears to be healing, but I have a lot of scar tissue.
