My gyno denied me right now.   Said I needed to lose weight first.

say what????  unless she/he is really that good - I would find a new one...

I had my ablation done before RNY  - when I was my heaviest... it was a procedure that I think was way overdue for me..  I had no idea how much more quality life I would get not having to deal with 7+ days of heavy bleeding every month...

I never knew people live can be that good... no longer i needed to sleep in "adult diapers"  (together with double heavy duty pads) so I would not wake up in  middle of the night in pool of blood...

I backed away from one procedure, scheduled a year before that...

But whatever you decide - it is going to work...

hmmmm.  She said she didn't want to do it if my really bad periods were weight related and hormone imbalance related from my weight.  I don't know why anyone would want to protect my uterus.  My tubes are tied and I am not wanting more children.

My RNY is tomorrow, so I will talk to my pcp about a new gyno after recovery.   I am just so terribly tired of all of this.

I would.  plus .. if you have insurance  and if  RNY will make you cover deductible, so the ablation should be like a "free" - insurance pays it al

a year or 2 after - I had some periods returning - but it was very light, spotting, lasted 2-3 days.

I wish I had mine done way way earlier....

You might have adenomyosis.  If you have not heard of it, look it up.  I had a hysterectomy 1.5 years ago after more than 10 years of horrible pain and bleeding.  Eventually it was curled up in a ball pain, and 3 weeks of bleeding in one month.  I have felt so so so much better since the hysterctomy.  I had no idea my life could be so much better.   I hope you find a gyn who can help you.

I am a teacher and am off for the summer. Unfortunately, so are my kids. They are a big whiney mess already. I don't think it is my job to entertain them 24/7.

How will I survive until August??????

I feel your pain.  I used to try to have a real schedule and lots of activities in the summer.  Every summer, my resolve and order would fade more quickly.  This year, my approach is "This is summer VACATION !  And I will think of it as a vacation."  Like, no big schedule, no stress about chores.  Just what is necessary to keep things flowing.  More tv than usual.  Eating breakfast and dinner on the porch nearly every night.  simple meals. Chatting with the neighbors more out in our yards as the neighborhood kids play night games and the dogs run with them.  Of course, the vacation idea  does not work entirely, but it really has made a difference in my attitude.  :-)

I used to do the same. In the past I worked my ass off to try to "entertain" my kids (and spent way too much money). No more. We will have a nice leisurely summer. I just need to get them used to the idea!!

I am also really sick and tired of cancer.

I'm pissed at my hip for deciding to get all painful on me.  I hate being jealous of R for being able to run (even if he complains about the heat and humidity) and I hate being jealous of P for getting to go to Aikido.  I WANT TO DO THOSE THINGS TOO.  Dammit.
