Carb Question
Yeah , that's what I mean ! It's so hard to know if it is a coincidence unless you tried it all the time . But yes it does happen like that for me , quite a few times. It may just be that the body needs that little bit of a shake up to get things moving again . I think we just need to be patient and trust in the process . I do anyway ! Lol ......Bodies are weird and wonderful and it's fascinating how it all works . Good luck lovey x
Hi Amy,
Yes, I have done something like this and it does work for me. I find if I eat only low carb for too long that the scale just won't move so I will relax my standards for a bit (a week or so) and eat like a "normal person" i.e. carbs with meals. For example, if I usually had just chicken and salad greens for dinner, I would eat slightly less chicken and have some mashed potatoes with it. Usually when I am losing I keep my carbs under 30 per day. When I eat normally, I would say I come a lot closer to 80 per day and drop my protein from 70-80 grams per day down to about 40-50. I don't lose weight during this break, but neither do I gain it. I have found that I lose inches though and as soon as I go back to high protein/low carb I will lose 5-8 pounds in the first 1-2 weeks. Good luck!
I've lost and regained a couple of times and plateaus/stalls are part of the process. Like you said, it sounds fishy to me as well. When I have stalled, I quit weighing myself and become determined not to let it frustrate and derail me. I look at it as a challenge to outlast the stall.

Add is a very dangerous word to use in WL or maintenance.
Consistency is key to both and beats wig wagging. The problem with wig wagging is that is in a sense it's a form of yo-yo dieting and you can end up wigging when you should be wagging.
I see your at a stage where many have slowed to stopped WL.
You "may" have to lower your calories to resume WL. I had to go to closer to 600cals. to lose the last weight.
After the huge amount of weight that you have lost (great work!) your body runs much more efficient and requires fewer calories, just imagine how many more calories you would burn if you now carried a 123lbs. backpack around all day 24/7
I say keep the carbs low and lower the calories. Try to drop your calories by 3-400 a day for 7 days and I think you will find an answer. Losing the last weight can get ugly !!! But than..... when was the last time you were so close to a desired size and weight !!!!
Keep up the great work !!!

I find changing up what I am eating and adding some fat for a meal or two, helps me to break a plateau. I think you get into a rut of eating the same things...

Just like you get bored, your body can get bored.. switching up what you eat, how you are eating and your exercise routine will help push you thru a plateau.... you may not need to add calories per se, but just changing where your calories come from can help. If you are working out a lot, like she is, her body is needing more calories/carbs to function and that's why the boost in calories is helping her lose some weight.
